The Hurstville Rotary Club was chartered on the 2^nd September, 1939;

Charter Members were:- President, Charles Barter, Vice President R. Rose, Secretary H. Piper, Treasurer H. Blaikie, Sgt. at Arms J. Webster, Committee A.Scott and A. Figtree, the first meeting of the provisional club was held in a restaurant in Woolworths (then called Jolleys Arcade) on July 10^th.

The charter night was held at the Masonic Hall, Croft Ave, Hurstville at a cost of 6 shillings and 6 pence.
